Lisa M. Bennett, Esq., B.F.A., is a Principal and Senior Mediator for Greater Boston Mediation, L.L.C. (“GBM”). She is a member of the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation as a Mediator. She specializes in facilitative mediation, with a focus on family mediation, divorce, and LGBTQ matters. She handles all aspects of family mediation, including family disputes, divorce and separation issues, parental coordination, post divorce and post separation, child support, co-habitation, LGBTQ issues, and elder/adult care. She also provides mediation training and conflict coaching services. Lisa received her general mediation, divorce mediation, and eviction mediation training through MWI, in Boston, Massachusetts. She trained with MetroWest Mediation on summary process and housing mediation, as well as harassment prevention mediation training for juvenile courts. She received Elder/Adult Family Conflict Resolution training through Elder Decisions in Massachusetts.

Lisa obtained her law degree from the University of Connecticut - School of Law. During her time there, she was trained as a mediator and certified legal intern for the UConn Mediation Clinic and the UConn Criminal Law Clinic. She graduated from the National Criminal Defense Trial College in Macon, Georgia, where she studied exclusively on criminal felony trial practice. She received her undergraduate degree (B.F.A.) at the School of Visual Arts in New York.

Prior to mediating, Lisa was employed with the Office of the Connecticut Public Defender, where she served as a criminal defense attorney. In that role, Lisa represented indigent clients in all aspects of criminal litigation, including arraignments, pretrial motions, jury selection, trials, sentencing, and appellate matters. Lisa previously worked for Discovery Communications, Inc. (home of “TLC” and the “Discovery Channel”) in the Washington, D.C., area. She served in a variety of capacities in its Legal Affairs department, including as a legal analyst for non-fiction television content, and provided research for Discovery Channel’s online presence.

Outside of GBM, Lisa is actively involved with the mediation community. She works with MetroWest Mediation Services as a lead divorce mediator, is a lead mediator for its court referred civil and small claims matters, as well as a mediator for summary process and juvenile court referred harassment prevention orders. Lisa currently serves as MWMS’ mediation and conciliation coordinator, is one of MWMS’ peer mediation instructors, and provides mediation coaching to MWMS’ mediator trainees.. Lisa regularly co-hosts MWMS’ mediator roundtables and has lead discussions on high conflict mediations, cultural differences in mediation, and AI-assisted mediation.

Lisa obtained inclusive mediation training from Community Mediation Maryland, and works with the Massachusetts Office of Public Collaboration and MWMS by providing prisoner re-entry mediation for soon to be released incarcerated individuals and their families.

Kristin J.B. Mirliani, Esq., B.A., is a Principal and Senior Mediator for Greater Boston Mediation, L.L.C. (“GBM”). Kristin is certified with the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation as a Certified Mediator. She specializes in facilitative mediation, with a focus on family mediation and estate settlement mediation. She handles all aspects of family mediation, including: divorce and separation agreements, parental coordination, pre and post nuptial agreements, child support, financial agreements, co-habitation agreements, and elder / adult care decisions. She also provides mediation training and conflict coaching services. Additionally, she focuses upon estate settlement mediation and disputes between beneficiaries of trusts and estates. She received her general mediation and divorce mediation training through MWI, in Boston, Massachusetts and her Elder / Adult Family Conflict Resolution training through Elder Decisions. She received her Collaborative Law Training from the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council.

Kristin is also the Principal and founder of Mirliani Family Law, a law firm dedicated to drafting separation agreements, divorce documents, parenting plans and co-habitation agreements. As an attorney, Kristin works in conjunction with Greater Boston Mediation to draft divorce legal pleadings as well as separation agreements based upon mediated terms.

Prior to joining GBM, Kristin had a legal practice with a Boston-based boutique firm focused in the areas of probate and the post-mortem settlement of trusts and estates.

Early in her legal career, Kristin was a partner and founding member of a family law litigation firm based in New York. She decided there needed to be a better path forward for families to reach their desired goals. She believes that mediation is more conciliatory, and ultimately, more successful in the short and long term for families.

Kristin earned her law degree from Boston University where she was recognized as an Edward F. Hennessey Scholar, and her Bachelor of Arts Degree, magna cum laude, from St. Lawrence University with a double major in Economics and Government.

Outside of the office, Kristin has an extensive history of elected public service. Currently she serves as an appointed member of the Town of Canton Finance Committee. In 2009, Kristin was elected to the Town of Canton Planning Board where she served for 5 years. She then was elected twice to the Canton School Committee where she served for six years, including as the Chair of the Committee for three years.

Kristin is a lead divorce mediator with MetroWest Mediation Services.
